3. My "Low Battery" Light keeps flashing.
· Replace the batteries in the base

4. My phone keeps beeping.
· Remove battery from handset and unplug AC adapter from outlet for 10 minutes
Put handset back in the base. Do not use phone for 30 minutes after reinstalling battery and AC adapter.

5. My phone or answer machine is not recording messages.
· An outgoing message (greeting) must be recorded in order to record incoming messages Please review manual for recording instructions

6. I don't get a dial tone.
· Check that the telephone line cord connectors at both ends are pushed in firmly until they click.
· If you had a power failure or had unplugged the base unit, replace the handset on the base unit for two to five seconds to reset the system.

7. I Cannot dial out.
· Are you in a rotary only area? Move the PULSE / TONE Switch to PULSE.
· Try a different phone in the jack. If the problem persists, the fault is not in the phone unit.
· Is the phone connected to another answering machine? Disconnect the answering machine and try to have the phone plugged into the jack alone. If it works alone, there is a compatibility problem. Purchase a 2 for 1 adaptor at any phone or electrical supply store. Plug the 2 for 1 adaptor into the modular wall jack, then plug the phone into one side and the answering machine on the other side of the adaptor.

8. My phone does not ring.
· Check the RING ON / OFF mode on the handset. Set to RING ON mode to enable the handset ringer.
· Check that the telephone line cord connectors at both ends are pushed in firmly until they click.
· You may have exceeded the Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) limit of how many phones can be connected to the same line. The REN total of all devices (printed on the bottom label of each unit) should not exceed five (5). Disconnect the appropriate units to lower the REN total.

9. I don't have power on the handset unit.
· Check the Ni-Cd battery pack for proper connection inside the battery compartment on the handset.
· The handset rechargeable Ni-Cd battery pack may need charging.

10. My Handset reads "Out of Range".
· Remove battery from handset and unplug AC adapter from outlet for 10 minutes
· Do not use phone for 30 minutes after reinstalling battery and AC adapter.

11. My Battery does not charge.
· Check the Ni-Cd battery pack for proper connection inside the battery compartment on the handset.
· Make sure the charging contacts on both the base unit and the handset are in contact during charging.
· The charging contacts and terminals may need cleaning with an alcohol-dampened swab.

12. The Range is limited.
· Raise or reposition the antenna on the base.
· Move the base unit so that it is centrally located in your residence or office and make sure that the base unit is not located near appliances.
· The handset Ni-Cd battery may be weak. Recharge the Ni-Cd battery.

13. My calls flutters or fades.
· The handset rechargeable Ni-Cd battery pack may need charging.

14. There is interference on reception.
· Choose an alternate channel using the SCAN button on the handset.

15. There is excessive static.
· Ensure that the antenna is not touching another metal object.

16. My Caller ID panel is blank.
· Check the power connection.
· Check the telephone line cord connections.
· Check the batteries for proper installation.

17. The Caller ID does not show the caller's name and / or phone number.
· The Caller ID unit will not function until you have Caller ID service provided by your local phone company. Call your local phone company to have Caller ID installed on your telephone line.
· Check your telephone line connections. Make sure all connections are secure and connected.
· If you pick up the phone before the second ring, the caller information will not be correctly received. If you have telephone answering device (TAD) connected with the unit, set the TAD to answer after two ring s or more.
· If it is a blocked call or an out-of-area call, the caller's name and / or phone number will not appear on the display.
· If only the caller's phone number appears on the display, it may be a Single Data Message Format (SDMF) call, as opposed to a Multiple Data Message Format (MDMF) call. Please call your local phone company to see which service you have.

18. Random characters and / or "NO DATA" appear on the LCD display.
· On rare occasions, the Caller ID information sent by the telephone company may have an error in the transmission. This is not the fault of your Caller ID unit. It can only capture and store the data that was received.

19. Cannot get Call Waiting identification on the LCD panel.
· Subscription to Caller ID Call Waiting (CIDCW) is required from your local phone company for the CIDCW function to operate properly. Call you local phone company for details.
· CIDCW must be programmed "ON" for this function, please refer to manual for programming instructions.

21. The handset does not stay on the base unit in wall use position.
· The handset retainer tab must be pulled out, turned around, and put back in its slot. This tab allows the handset to hang onto the base unit while the base unit is placed in the wall mount position. Refer to the "Handset Retainer Tab Installation" of the user's manual for more details.
